Workshop
I'm Mio Bertolo Ambra, reporter for the second group.
In my group there were also Serena Lizzi and Erica Segatto.
The objective of our workshop
was to find some activities concerning the text Eric, or Little by Little
for children of nursery school.
The method
adopted in our workshop was that everybody expressed ideas
about the activities and then we discussed such ideas together to put them into
a better focus.
We were not able to keep to time because trying to generate simple work is
not an easy
matter as it may seem.
Here below the points of our reflection:
1 - During the first lesson, the teacher tells (not reads) the story to the children she/he could use
different tones of voice to emphasize
words and focus the attention of children on special phrases.
2 - Second lesson: comprehension. Teacher tries to
summarize the story with the children help. So she/he asks some questions and
children answer (they review the story all together). Then children make a
drawing about the story.
3 - For the next lesson, we
considered the idea of some activities involving emotions. Children (with the
help of teacher if it is necessary) do a die. Every side of the die represents one
emotion (happy, sad, worry...) Children cast the die and
then they have to:

- For the
last lesson we thought to talk about values: what is wrong and what is ok.
For example, the teacher shows some pictures about the story and the children
have to say what pictures are referred to something good and what pictures
are referred to wrong because they are
bad actions.
The activity could be used to introduce some rules ( school
rules, life rules.)
Difficulties:
We found it difficult to find activities for chidren because they have to be short and
rather simple. They have to be short because
children’s time of attention and interest are not long.
